B90 Days - Days 8 & 9

Reading: Leviticus
Yesterday and today's reading covered Leviticus, which basically was all the laws that God set for the Israelites to teach them how to live in the land He was giving them. There were so many laws that I'm glad we, as believers in God's son, don't have to follow. Can you imagine having to keep track of which animal went with which sacrifice? It would certainly be a completely different world.
There was one law that caught my attention today - Leviticus 18:18:
"Do not take your wife's sister as a rival wife and have sexual relations with her while your wife is living."
I know we are many generations past Jacob and his wives (all four of them!) but you know that God was probably thinking back to the problems that erupted between Rachel and Leah and knew that the Israelites did not need to follow in their forefather's footsteps.
On to Numbers tomorrow...making good progress - God is great!
Blessings!
